Best Quotes From Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

I’m not usually one to watch a movie without reading the book first — but I did in this case. Let me just say, neither disappointed. To me, the worst feeling is getting really hyped up because a book is finally getting turned into a movie and then the movie doesn’t follow the plot and is a huge letdown…blah, blah, blah.

Of course, this is not what happened with Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (get the book here). If you’re looking for a great read with a complex plot, just do it! Add this to your “books to read over spring break” list ASAP.

However, I do highly recommend you read the book before watching the movie. The plot twists will be much more shocking, I promise.

Here are my favorite quotes from the book:

Well, there are all kinds of men, his most damning phrase, the second half left unsaid, and you are the wrong kind.

Give me a man with a little fight in him, a man who calls me on my bullshit.

I know it will be okay. It’s just so far from what I pictured.

Like walking through a door. Our relationship immediately attained a sepia tone: the past.

Because you can’t be as in love as we were and not have it invade your bone marrow. Our kind of love can go into remission, but it’s always waiting to return. Like the world’s sweetest cancer.
